The 2012-2014 realignment shook up Region V causing three teams to be brought in. Gilbert, Strom Thurmond and Swansea all move up from 2A joining Airport, Brookland Cayce and Midland Valley for a Midlands area collection. These six teams combined for 40 wins and 30 losses a season ago. Three had winning records; Airport, Strom Thurmond and Swansea while the other three finished below .500 on the season.
