The goal of the Future Stars Football Combine is to evaluate middle school football players in different position testing drills led by the SCVarsity.com/Blue Chip Scouting Report coaching staff and some of the basic combine tests: 40 yard dash, pro agility shuttle, and L-Cone Drill. Players will be instructed on the proper ways to perform each test/drill and evaluated on technique, explosion, and timing throughout this event.
Each position will work on fundamental skills applicable to their respective positions. Players will work offense first, then defense. All players will work a position on both sides of the ball during the event.
At the completion of testing and skills drills, players will compete in one-on-one's where Quarterbacks will throw to receivers against defensive backs, running backs and linebackers will compete in coverage drills, and offensive/defensive linemen will work against each other. This is a NON-CONTACT event.
At the completion of the one-on-one's, Jim Baxter of SCVarsity.com/Rivals.com/YahooSports will discuss the importance of academic focus for players who have dreams of competing in high school and further.
Instructors for the camp include current and former college players and former high school All-Americans, as well as area high school football coaches.
The cost of this event is just $25.00 for early registration prior to May 16. After May 16th, registration is $35.00.
All players will have their photo's taken and will be included in the Blue Chip Scouting Report's Future Stars edition, published in August.
Date: Saturday, May 26th
