Combine Preview: Top Defensive Backs
The
2014 All State Football Combine roster is set and we are loaded at

every single position. Last year, a defensive back captured the MVP
award of the event and that position is loaded again for this year's
event. Here's a highlight of the defensive back positions.

Davis, columbia (SC) A.C. FLORA
Davis is one of the top targets among defensive backs in the state. He
is rated as a three-star as we head into Spring but could see that
rating rise as we get through the Summer Camp series.

Ecton is easily one of the top athletes at this year's event; he
captured the MVP Defensive Back award at the 2013 All State Combine and
recenlty had the 6th highes SPARQ rating at the Orlando Nike Sparq
camp.

Carr, LEXINGTON (SC) LEXINGTON
Carr is a highly under rated player; he's very physical and strong in
run support; he's got excellent breaking speed and can really wreck a
passing game for opposition. He will, more than likely, play on both
sides of the ball for the Wildcats this season.

Fraizer is a big strong safety (6-3, 190) for the Vikings; had 90

Murray is an underclassman from the 2016 class who has shown strong
skills as a cornerback in coverage. He will have an opportunity to

GILBERT (SC) GILBERT
Underrated player who will excell on either side of the football; had
500+yards as a receiver for Gilbert this past season but I believe this
6-2, 177lbs athlete is strong on defense as a safety and he has great
instincts.

Woods, bennettsville (sc) marlboro County
Woods is a player who has developed into a very good football players.
A running back his freshman year, a growth spurt has enabled him to
become a very strong defender for the Bulldogs. His straightline speed
is a question mark but he's physical and has the ability to cover man,
as well.

Pruett, INMAN (SC) CHAPMAN
An athlete from the Debo Samuel mold, Pruett is a 2016 player who is
going to turn heads as a junior. He had 85 tackles as a sophomore this
past season, with 7 passes broken up. I look for him to challenge for
the DB MVP award at this year's event.
