Greer WR Stock Rising Quickly

Greer (SC) SCVarsity.com introduced you to Greer Yellow Jacket standout Desmond Parks
several months ago with a sleeper spotlight story. But the 6-5 athlete is

beginning to see his sleeper status fade as he is transforming in to a hot
commodity on recruiters' evaluation boards.
Parks (6-5, 217), who already has an offer from North Carolina on the table,
is generating interest from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, NC State, and Vanderbilt.
Last week, Florida assistant coach John Hevesy visited Greer's Spring practice
to watch Parks in action.
"They are recruiting me as a hybrid tight end and wide receiver.
They like me as a tight end in some formations and move me out to slot in
passing situations," said Parks.
Parks said that currently two programs are recruiting him harder than the
rest.
According to Parks, North Carolina and Florida seem to be recruiting him the
hardest. "Florida is 'real close' to offering me."
Last year, before the start of his junior season, he was moved from defensive
end to tight end, and lined up wide some. He responded by catching 30 passes for
450-yards and 5 touchdowns.
Parks has a frame that can carry another 20-30 lbs and is going to be a
hybrid-type of wide receiver. He's aggressive when going up for a ball with
defensive backs and always attacks the ball - he doesn't wait on it to fall into
his hands, he goes up and gets it. He adjusts well to the ball in the air and
has the ability, size, and strength to dominate the jump balls."
At the SCVarsity.com All-State Football Combine, Parks ran a 4.67 forty yard
dash, a 4.3 shuttle and put up 185-pounds for 13 reps.
Parks lists Florida and Florida State as his favorites because of their style
of offense. Then North Carolina and South Carolina.
Parks has a 385-pound squat and a 250-pound bench press to go along with a
3.85 GPA.
