HOW WILL OUR MAJORS DO THIS SEASON.
For whatever reason, the Palmetto State has not been the hotbed of DI

prospects over the years, though the ones that we do produce are
outstanding. This season we'll be keeping an eye on Irmo's Justin
McKie, who has committed to South Carolina. Last season, McKie had an
injury that led to a slow start and he played behind all-star Jordan
Roper. But this season, the 6-3, 175lbs shooting guard will be "the
man" for the Yellow Jackets and has been stroking it as of late,
putting in 20 points against White Knoll Tuesday night. Cardinal
Newman's Austin Ajukwa (6-5, 180), who has committed to Clemson, will
attempting to lead the CN to the SCISA state title as the Association's
top player. Keenan's Marcus Stroman (6-1, 165), another South Carolina
commit, is one of the top juniors in the state and gives the Raiders a
legit shot in the 2A state title race.
YOUTH ON THE RISE
A few  "youngsters" to keep an eye on are:
Hammond freshman Seventh Woods, who led Hammond in points,
rebounds, and assists last year as an eighth grader. The 6-2 guard has
already captured the eyes of recruiters on the circuit with his
participation in USA Basketball.
Spring Valley sophomore Perry Dozier, JR, known as PJ, is a 6-3
gaurd for the Vikings and has moved into much more than a role player
in their scheme.
Keep an eye on Eau Claire's Tariq Simmons, who is currently an
eighth graders shining on the court for the Shamrocks. Simmons was one
of the top players in every Summer evaluation event he participated in
this past year.
Dreher sophomore Tevin Mack, who has helped the Dreher Blue
Devils to a No.9 ranking in 3A this week. Mack, who has a very good
showing in showcase events this past Summer, is averaging a little more
than 24 points per game.
Oranbeburg-Wilkinson's Dejoria Howard (5-11) plays wing for the
Bruinettes and is averaging 16points per game.  She has great size
on the wing and is good at reading the defense. She attacks the
basketball well and can either finish at the rim or pull up for the
short jumper.
