turned in an outstanding season in 2006 and turned enought of the coaches' heads to get
himself a spot in last week's SCADA North-South all-star football game. While there, he
apparently turned the heads of some recruiters, too, as he has been invited to Tennessee
this weekend for a visit.
"I got a text message yesterday from Coach (Matt) Luke," said Wright,
"inviting me up for a practice this weekend and a basketball game."
The Volunteers are preparing for the Outback Bowl and Wright will take in a practice,
along with Ridge View linebacker Appollo Stretch.
"Coach Luke was one of the coaches there last week at the all-star practice,"
said Wright, "and I guess he liked what he saw."
Wright started for the Cavaliers at quarterback during 2005 and was 9-0 as a starter
before going down to an injury. This year, he was used as a wide receiver and defensive
back and has drawn interest from Middle Tennessee State and Marshall with his field
prowess and his performance at the Nike Football Training Camp last Spring.
Currently, he has an offer and has committed to play junior college ball, but stated
that if a DI offer was extended, he would definitely go that route.
Stay tuned to SCVarsity.com as we follow this outstanding student-athlete's
recruiting.
