SC Class Of 2008 Top Prospects: Lower State

There is little doubt that South Carolina has become a hotbed for football recruiting,
having two five-star players in last years's Rivals100, and sure to have at least three

players inside the Top 100 again this year. SCVarsity.com will take a look around the
state and glance at the balance of talent in each region. Today, we take a look at the top
talent in the Upstate of South Carolina.
The upstate crop of athletes is a little more difficult to seperate in the Top Ten.

180lbs defensive back from J.L. Mann has the edge and is outstanding on both sides of the
ball. He's committed to Tennessee but has offers from South Carolina, Michigan, and NC
State as well. Could very well open his recruiting back up if the recent interest
continues.
Greenwood quarterback

the next on the list of Upstate Top Ten's. Close to a 40 inch vertical jump and a sub 4.5
40, Spearman is rated high as an athlete. Greenwood coach Shell Dula thinks he can compete
for a quarterback job at the next level, but he's proven he can do well at other positions
by working out as a wide receiver at the Nike Combine.
Below is a look at some of the top prospects from the Upstate area for the Class of
2008.
