The Class of 2007 Hot 100 List is composed of what we feel are the 100 top players in the state from this class.

Quarterbacks .
Willy Korn, Byrnes - Korn has been an SCVarsity.com All-State
player since his sophomore year and there's no reason to believe that he wouldn't be at
the top of our list for the Class of 2007.
Mark Cann, Landrum - Southpaw has one offer on the table and
more sure to come. He's a big bodied, strong armed pocket passer that will enter his third
complete season as a starter for the Cardinals.
Matt Lentz, Greenville - Matt Lentz put up some outstanding
numbers last season with a lot of talent at wide out. Like Korn, he's an extremely mobile
quarterback who is as dangerous with his legs as he is with his arm.
Malcolm Long, Gaffney - One of the more under rated athletes in
the state, Long is a pocket passer and showed accuracy and arm strength in leading the
Indians to a come from behind win in the AAAA-DI title game against Summerville last
season.
Garrett Jones, Batesburg Leesville - Jones is a leader on the
field. He showed great improvement from his sophomore season to the end of last season,
leading the Panthers to the AA state title. He's got a good arm and runs a good option in
the Panther running attack.
Running Backs
Brian Maddox, T.L. Hanna - Maddox is considered by many to be
the best back in the state. He's got the size, speed, and power to be the complete
all-purpose running back.
Brandon Johnson, Spring Valley - Johnson has the on-field tools
to be the best running back in the state. He runs with power, has speed to seperate, and
has incredible lateral and change of direction quickness.
Antwaine Lyde, Wilson - Lyde may be the most under rated of the
running backs. He's got excellent speed, runs with power, and is explosive to and through
the holes.
Mario Carter, Irmo - New comer. First year starter for the
Yellow Jackets. Has been patiently waiting his chance to start, though he performed
extremely well in the back up role. Very fast to the corner and shifty in traffic. Has a
chance to be one of the top backs in the state in production.
Offensive Linemen
Quinton Richardson, Spring Valley - At this stage of
developement, is the top lineman in the state. Very explosive off of the ball and knocks a
lot of folks down. Will get better as he plays more offense.
David Smith, Greenville - Big bodied, solid pass blocking
tackle. Smith has the good feet and will only get better.
Kyle Fisher, Spring Valley - Fisher is the one I call
"most likely to pass the others." He has a huge upside potential, graded out in
the high 80's for tough-grading coach, and is still growing and developing. Will be big
time.
Mason Cloy, Spring Valley - One of the more athletic Hawgs.
Cloy has been used at Center, Guard, and Tight End for the Vikings. He's very nimble for a
big guy and plays Lacross too.
Wilson Norris, Pickens - Without a doubt, the best guard in
this class in South Carolina.
Kyle Nunn, Sumter - Another big bodied player. Very good run
blocker.
T.J. Thomas, Summerville - Very good run blocker. Stays with
his blocks well and knows how to pancake.
Wes Baldwin, South Aiken - Strong and quick. Solid on the run
blocking and quick enough to get to the "athletic" defensive ends.
Andrew Tucker, Summerville - Huge bodied lineman, similar to
his teammate, Thomas. Solid on the run blocking.
Wide Receivers
Mark Barnes, Richland Northeast - Barnes is the best football
athlete in the state, period. At the Gainesville Nike Camp, he demonstrated flawless
patterns and very good hands. In the right offense, he'd be lethal.
Junior Hemingway, Conway - One of the state's top prospects
overall. Very good athlete with excellent speed. If he were left at one position, he'd put
up huge numbers.
Xavier Dye, Greenwood - Will become one of the state's best at
this position. Has very good speed and soft hands.
Dontrell Inman, Batesburg-Leesville - Makes his quarterback
look good, snagging some very difficult passes. Has good speed and even better vertical
ability.
Brandon King, Ridge View - The sleeper of the class at this
position. Great size, good speed, incredible vertical ability. With practice on his route
running and a little more speed, could be one of the top two or three in the state at this
position.
Markish Jones, Broome - Good speed, soft hands, and dangerous
with the ball after the catch. Can also play on the defensive side of the ball.
Cameron Ford, T.L. Hanna - Big, physical reciever. Makes the
tough catch in a crowd. Good speed too.
Jakar Hamilton, Strom Thurmond - One of the best athletes at
this position. If they can get him the ball this season, he'll put up big numbers - IF
he's not playing another position. He's athletic enough to line up at QB or RB.
Brandon Bostick, West Florence - Another sleeper in the class.
He's got a big frame, good hands, and is a tough runner after the catch.
Defensive Ends
Cliff Matthews, Cheraw - One of the best at this position in
the Southeast. He's a little on the thin side, but still growing. Has a frame that will
allow some pounds. Good speed and quickness and aggressive to the ball.
Carlos Dunlap, Ft Dorchester - Another of the state's top
prospects, regardless of position. Big bodied. Probably a 7 technique at the next level.
Vernard Parnell, Marlboro County - Quick to the ball. Big,
strong, fast, and difficult to block. Will cause problems for Bulldog opponents this
season.
Defensive Linemen
Jarvis Jenkins, Daniel - one of the top players at this
position in the country. Explosive off of the ball and brings it to the offense every
play.
Stephen White, Beaufort - Gets very good penetration and has
acute awareness of where the ball is. Tough for one guy to block.
Devon Thompson, Union - Quick first step, good penetration, and
puts good pressure on pass rushes. Finds the ball well.
Linebackers
Charles White, Blythewood - Great speed, slips blocks well to
get to the ball, and pursues the ball away from him very well. Powerful hitter.
Scotty Cooper, Lake City - Very good speed, especially in
pursuit, with a nose for the ball. Another very good hitter.
Stanley Hunter, Byrnes - Played end for the Rebels last season.
Very quick and difficult to block. Gets to the ball carrier fast. Will be interesting to
see him at linebacker this season.
Lindell Stevenson, Marlboro County - solid athlete at several
positions. He's big, strong, fast, and athletic. Fights off blocks well and has a nose for
the ball. May start at quarterback for the Bulldogs, as well.
Preseton Stukes, Manning - Big player in the middle. Reads the
offense well and gets to the ball quick.
Chad Diehl, Byrnes - May be the most under rated of these
players. Very athletic and fast. Has quick feet, very good lateral movement. He fights
blocks well and always seems to position himself to make the tackle. May play OL for the
Rebels out of necessity.
Defensive Backs
Gary Gray, Richland Northeast - Five star prospect and one of
the top players at his position in the country. Very good breaking speed and comes up and
delivers solid run support.
Keon Cunningham, Strom Thurmond - Another under rated player on
the Hot 100. He's got excellent speed, very good field awareness, and is quick to the ball
- whether in the air or on the ground.
Jimmar Boston, Westside - Quick, very good hips, and solid
tackler. Can play the run or pass well and even at 6-0, can play a strong corner.
John Synovec, Ridge View - Pure fire. This motor is running
full speed from the time he's on the field until the time the clock runs out. Strong
against the run, with exellent speed - ran a 4.5 at Nike. Would be excellent at OLB.
Nick Adams, Colleton County - Solid DB prospect. Very athletic,
good speed, and strong in run support.
Mikar Wright, Bamberg-Erhardt - Another under rated player.
He's got excellent speed and is very good against the run or the pass. Breaks to the ball
well.
Athletes
Tye Wright, Richland Northeast - One of the most versitile of
the players on the list. Wright is an excellent running quarterback, and very good wide
receiver. He runs very good patterns and has soft hands. His strongest assett is his
ability to run with the football.
Jae Fitzgerald, Crestwood - Solid running back prospect who
doubled on defensive side of the ball last year after coming back from injury. He's a big,
strong, fast player who runs with power on the offensive side of the ball.
Kendrick Pressley, Sumter - Quarterback for the Sumter
Gamecocks, Pressley is extremely athletic. Has a good arm, very good running abilities.
Would be a nice wide receiver prospect and several schools are looking at him as such.
Marquis Coleman, Chester - Had over 1300 yards of total offense
last year and 58 tackles and 5 interceptions on defense. Is a very good DB prospect.
