(6-2, 215lbs) is now touting six scholarship offers with more sure to follow. Maddox, who
has been slotted as SCVarsity.com's top running back from the Class of 2007, talked with SCVarsity.com
about his recruiting and his recent Junior Day visit to Maryland.
"As of right now, I've got six scholarship offers," said Madddox.  South
Carolina, Duke, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and NC State have all offered the big
running back. He visited Maryland this past weekend for Junior Day and came away
impressed.
"I really liked it up there," said Maddox. "It was cold, but anywhere
you play is going to have some positives and negatives. I really liked their coaching
staff, especially the running backs Coach Donavan."
One of the things that most impressed Maddox were the facilities.
"They had great facilities. The position meeting rooms were nice, the weight room
was outstanding - I really liked that. They also have a good engineering program, one of
the best, and that's what I plan on studying in school."
Maddox will be busy over the next five weekends, as he plans on being on a different
campus each week.
"I'm going to South Carolina next week, North Carolina the weekend after that, and
Auburn the weekend after that." All of those will be Junior Days. After Auburn,
Maddox will use the following two weekends to go to Virginia Tech and NC State on
unofficial visits.
Maddox will also be busy this Spring running track and working out for football. He is
running the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 relay for the Yellow Jackets and has his
father putting him through off-season football workouts.
What will it take for recruiters to land this outstanding running back?
"I'm looking for several things that are important," said Maddox. "First
of all, they have to have a good engineering program. As for football, I'm looking at how
they use their running backs in the running game and passing game, as well as early
playing time."
This past season, Maddox rushed for 1,328 yards and 21 scores, had 405 yards receiving
and two more scores, and had 360 return yards on special teams.

back through his recruiting process and his senior football season.
